Dr. Bieligk earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in Oklahoma City. He completed his general surgery residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA where he also served as Research Fellow/ Instructor. He completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Prior to joining St. John's Medical Group, Dr. Bieligk was the Attending Director of Surgical Oncology at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD while Assistant Professor for the Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, at the University of Maryland Medical School. Dr. Bieligk is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Currently, Dr. Bieligk is the Director of Surgical Oncology and the Chairman of Cancer Committee at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO. Dr. Bieligk began the HIPEC program at St. John's and has been performing the HIPEC procedure since 1999. Dr. Bieligk is an active member of the Society of Surgical Oncology as well as the Society of Peritoneal Surface Malignancy.
