Benedict Benigno M.D., F.A.C.O.G. is the Founder and President of University Gynecologic Oncology and is the Founder and CEO of the Ovarian Cancer Institute.  Dr. Benigno is also Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Northside Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia. In a patient oriented presentation, he will discuss a procedure known as Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC), which is used in conjunction with surgery for treating ovarian cancer that has spread to abdominal/peritoneal cavity.

Following presentation Dr. Benigno will answer questions about the HIPEC Procedure and the Treatment Program at Northside Hospital.



Dr. Benigno has published numerous articles and textbook chapters and speaks regularly on various aspects of gynecologic cancer. In 2008, he brought the technique of Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) to Northside Hospital where it has become routine in the treatment of patients with ovarian cancer.
