Dr. Roy-Chowdhury completed her General Surgery residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Staten Island University Hospital, New York. She then completed a Surgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

She is currently faculty at Indiana University Hospital, where she has established a Peritoneal Surface malignancy program, specializing in the treatment of carcinomatosis from colon cancer, pseudomyxoma peritoni
